The Hartland competitive cheer team finished fewer than four points from a spot to return to the state finals for the second consecutive year during a highly competitive regional Saturday at .
The Eagles occupied fifth after each of the first two rounds and despite a strong Round 3 routine, the squad could not make up enough ground to catch fourth-place Grandville.
Hudsonville won the regional with 803.5592 points, followed closely by West Ottawa and East Kentwood. Fewer than 10 points separated the top four teams, with the Eagles right behind. (For complete results, see below).

The event ends a strong season by the Eagles, who finished duals 5-0 to win the Kensington Lakes Acitivities Association West Division and also captured districts and the KLAA and Lakes conference meets.
