Hartland made its way to Waterford on Wednesday night with the anticipation of redeeming themselves after a disappointing loss to East Grand Rapids on Monday. What ensued was complete dominance.  Hartland started the game with every field position filled with a senior. Five minutes into the game, Hartland was leading 4-0.

Hartland promoted some JV players for this game to get them experience prior to the playoffs starting on May 23. Hartland brought up Kristina Hollis and Brooke Eicher for the game. Hollis has lead the JV program in scoring this year and Eicher has been the talented goalie keeping shots at bay.

The game featured difficulty in picking up ground balls and some hard fouls committed by Grand Blanc. This was due to the frustration that the defense provided all night. Waterford had difficulty moving the ball around the field and even getting it into the scoring area. Hartland played solid defense and Eicher made some nice saves.

Hartland went into halftime with a 12-1 lead. They came out for the second half with more motivation to score and work on some different aspects of the game.  The second half mirrored the first half and at the end of the game, the scoreboard displayed a 19-3 win.

Hartland provided eleven different scorers on the night. Ryan Skomial led Hartland with four goals and two assists. Haley Crouse and Natalie Sochaki added three goals a-piece. Sara Barnett added two goals. Abbey Tierney, Amber Crouse, Rachel Gibbs, Amy Longe, Taylor Pryde, Kristina Hollis, and even varsity goalie Tabitha Ferguson added one goal each.

The game was intense and it provided a lot of fireworks. The team rebounded after the disappointing loss and got moving in the right direction by hustling on defense and moving the ball on offense. Playoffs will start on May 23 in Lake Orion at 7pm against Huron Valley.
