Hartland Eagles Sink Pinckney Pirates, 19-7
Hartland football takes another win during the 2012 Homecoming game.
The Hartland Eagles sank the Pinckney Pirates 19-7 Friday night during a steady rain.
The Eagle defense turned in a sparkling effort before a large homecoming crowd. Hartland defensive lineman Markus Inman blocked a Pinckney field goal attemp with 3:34 left in the first quarter.
After a scoreless first quarter, Hartland got on the board with a 34 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Stephen Milarch to wide receiver Brandon Gigliotti with just 58 seconds remaining in the 1st half. The Eagles missed the extra point to take a 6-0 lead. The Pirates came right back after two long pass completions to take a 7-6 lead into the locker room at the half.

The Eagle Pom team dazzled the large homecoming crowd with a special rendition of Grease Lighting from the musical Grease. Senior Bryan Condra was crowned homecoming King while senior Megan Bierer was crowned homecoming Queen to the delight of the huge crowd.
Hartland’s Alec Bain kicked what proved to be the winning field goal from 32 yards out with 8:57 remaining in the third quarter giving the Eagles a 9-7 lead. A stout Hartland defense shut down the Pirates in the second half lead by Alec Bain’s two interceptions. With the 19-7 homecoming win, the Eagles raise their record to 5-0 overall and remain in 1st place in the KLAA West Division at 3-0. Hartland is on the road next Friday as they travel to Brighton.
