Here at Patch, we love to regularly spotlight young people in the Hartland community who are successful, talented and just plain awesome.
But we need your help. We know those kids are out there doing great things for and in the community, so let us know about them so we can help spread the word.
Today we feature U10 Girls Soccer team from the Hartland United FC who won the WSSL Select D1 Championship.
Introduction: This is the U10 Hartland United Girls Soccer Team. The team includes the players:
- Julia Pietila
- Riley Gerecke
- Rachel Everett
- Karley Niemi
- Kamryn Gerecke
- Charlotte Toor
- Justina L’Esperance
- Kylie Seiter
- Maria Storm
- Hannah Berry
- Coaches: Mike Toor and Bryan Berry. Manager: Lori Gerecke.
Keys to awesomeness: The team worked very hard to earn this success. Multipal practices weekly even during the winter gave this group an edge to many teams. The group also credits Justin Detter and his coaching team for giving a huge lift in confidence and skills.
Do you know a local young person who deserves applause because he or she shovels the elderly neighbors' driveway? Or perhaps athletic achievements are worth sharing. Everyone deserves attention, and we want to tell these stories. Email nominations to local editor Tatum Ryan at tatum.ryan@patch.com, provide the information shown above and include a photo with names and ages.
