Hartland Schools Warn Parents About Stranger Who Approached Student
Police called after suspicious incident Thursday in the Foldenauer Farms subdivision.

An incident in which a suspicious stranger approached a Hartland High School girl early Thursday morning has prompted a police investigation and a Hartland School District e-mail to warn parents.
A man in a red SUV approached the student at about 6:35 a.m. on Saddle Club Road in the Foldenauer Farms subdivision, according to the letter, which came from Superintendent Janet Sifferman. The girl was immediately uncomfortable and ran to her house while the man sped off, running several stop signs, the letter said. He is described as 5-foot-4 inches tall, with a muscular build and short brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans.
"Please talk with your child and reinforce that they should not talk or go anywhere with strangers and should report any suspicious activity to you," said letter, which was also forwarded to Hartland Patch.

A police report was filed with the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, according to the letter.
