UPDATED: Hartland Singers Take Two Top Spots in Livingston Sensation
Samantha Parks wins People's Choice award while Lexee Longwell takes second in singing contest.

Hartland singers Lexee Longwell and Samantha Parks grabbed two of the top four spots in Sunday's finals of the Livingston Sensation singing contest, according to an article in the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus.
Parks won the People's Choice award from voting online while Longwell took second in the overall competition. Emmi Veinbergs of Pinckney took first.
"I really didn't expect that at all," said Parks who was pleased to win and spend the past couple of weekends with friends during the competition.

Overall, four of the 12 finalists had Hartland connections with Lindsey Klebba of Hartland and Benjamin Jacoby of Hartland High School.
"Hartland has a lot of talent," said Parks, a 2011 high school graduate who leaves Tuesday for college at Grand Valley State University. "It was very cool for our town to represent (our community)."

Parks, who and performed at several local venues, said she isn't sure what her next competition might be or whether she might try American Idol. She said she did attempt to qualify for The Voice this past year.
"It depends on what the year brings," she said. "I'm very excited (about school)."
