Hartland beats Lakeland 1-0 with a run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Hartland softball (20-6) clinched at least a share of the KLAA title on Monday when they came up with a 1-0 win over Lakeland, according to coach Carl Gabrielson.
Calling it a "big-time win," Gabrielson and his team are now looking ahead to the rest of season.
“We have to win one of two on Wednesday against Pinkney,” he said. “To win the division for the second year in a row.”

The winning run came in the bottom of the tenth inning when senior Dariean Bennington hit a walk-off single. Junior Abbie Minsker pitched the whole game for the Eagles and sophomore Karly Wilczewski was the big hitter of the game, according to Gabrielson.
This was the third time in a row that Hartland was able to defeat Lakeland, which shows the program’s improvement, according to Gabrielson.

“For us it’s exciting because they are one of our biggest rivals,” Gabrielson said. “And it’s nice to see the Hartland program has come along and we can compete against these better teams.
“To beat Lakeland, it’s the level of play we need to do if we want to go on to bigger and better things,” he said.
