Hartland Township Hydrant Flushing Schedule

All hydrants on the Hartland Township water system are flushed twice a year to flush out any rust that may have accumulated in the water mains.

Residents may expect to see rusty/discolored water during the times that hydrants are being flushed in their area or shortly thereafter. Residents can run cold water for 10-15 minutes or until the water runs clear.  It is recommended that the residents do not do laundry when the flushing is occurring in their area.

If the residents notice a sustained decrease in pressure or are unable to flush out the discoloration after letting water run, they should contact the water system operator at (810) 632-9405 or the Township Public Works Director at (810) 632-7498 ext. 262.
