Kate Upton, Detroit Tigers Boyfriend Exposed in Nude Selfie Hacking

The FBI in investigating who is behind leaked nude photos, including some showing supermodel-turned-actress Kate Upton, 22, and her boyfriend, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, 31, that appeared over the weekend on the image-sharing site 4chan.

The Major League Baseball pitcher and Sports Illustrated model were among dozens of A-list celebrities whose nude photos went viral, and the FBI is investigating accusations the stars’ online accounts were hacked, reportedly through Apple’s iCloud storage system, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Apple is also investigating whether its accounts were compromised, according to the Associated Press.

The nude photos of about 100 celebrities comprised a “who’s who of Hollywood,” CBS-Los Angeles reports, and may have been the largest hacking involving celebrities ever.

Also targeted were Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, who starred in “The Hunger Games” and “Silver Linings Playbook,” was at the top of the A-list stars whose nude photos appeared on the site. Also on the list were Nickelodeon actress Victoria Justice; “Problem” singer Ariana Grande; and actress Kirsten Dunst.

Some celebrities said the photos were fakes; others, including Upton, said they were legitimate. The photos of Upton and Verlander show the couple in various states of undress.

Upton’s attorney said in a statement the photos are “an outrageous violation” of Upton’s privacy and she intends to sue, Us magazine reports.

A spokesperson for Lawrence issued a similar statement, calling the leaks “a flagrant violation of privacy,” and also vowing to sue.

The viral images of Upton and Verlander are “selfie style” bathroom mirror pictures, International Business Times reports. Their backsides are facing the mirror in the images, and in one, Verlander appears to have his hand on her bottom. In another, his hand is gone, but a red mark remains where it had been.
