Looking for places to help celebrate the 4th of July in style? Here are some local communities hosting events and firework displays for the next two weeks.

• Why go: Hungry Duck half-marathon, 5K and Duckling Dash plus a pancake breakfast kick-off events that include a 10 a.m. parade. 

Fenton Annual Freedom Festival

• Date: July 4
• Time: Dusk
• Where: Silver Lake Park
• Why go: The day starts with an American Legion Pancake Breakfast and includes a parade At 10 a.m. and other family events. 

Fowlerville Fireworks and Parade

• Date: July 4, rain date July 5
• Time: Dusk
• Where: Fowlerville Fairgrounds, Community Park, North Grand Ave in Fowlerville

Gregory Parade and Fireworks

• Date: July 4 
• Time: Dusk
• Where: Gregory softball diamond in Gregory

Hudson Mills Metropark

• Date: July 3
• Time: 10 p.m.
• Where: Hudson Mills Metropark near Dexter/Ann Arbor

Sparks in the Park

• Date: June 30, rain date July 1
• Time: 10 p.m.
• Where: Milford High School
• Why go: The day includes children activities and food vendors. Live bands start performing at 5 p.m. 

Pinckney Fireworks

• Date: July 7
• Time: 10 p.m.
• Where: Portage Lake

White Lake Fireworks

• Date: June 30
• Time: Dusk
• Where: South end of White Lake in Highland
• Why go: Enjoy decorated boats in the annual Boat Parade that begins at 2:15 pm at the Mitchell's Marina bay. 

Whitmore Lake Fireworks

• Date: June 30, rain date July 1
• Time: Dusk
• Where: Whitmore Lake in Green Oak Township
