Local Woman becomes Semi-Finalist for Ms. Veteran America 2018

Ms. Veteran America Semi-Finalist Kelly Meade

Local resident and Army veteran, Kelly Meade has reached the semifinals of the Ms. Veteran America competition. In June, she will be competing in Arlington, VA with the hopes of making the finals held in Hollywood, CA in October. Although "She Served Like A Girl" for her country, her service did not stop there. She has continued to serve her fellow veterans by giving her time, energy and resources to bring awareness to the epidemic of homeless women veterans. With the help of the Ms. Veteran America Awareness Movement she is bringing to light "The Woman Beyond The Uniform". The Ms. Veteran America competition highlights more than the strength, courage, and sacrifice of our nations military women, but also reminds us that these women are Mothers, Daughters, Sisters and Wives. Women veterans are 2 to 3 times for likely to be homeless than any other group in the US adult population and seventy percent (70%) of these women veterans are single mothers. Please join us in spreading the word of these women in plight. Help Kelly in her efforts to become Ms. Veteran America 2018 by liking her page on Facebook KellyM4MVA2018 and follow her on Twitter@KellyM4MVA2018 or make a tax deductible donation at https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/kellm4mva2018. All proceeds from this event support the national non profit Final Salute, Inc.
