Devoted wife, mother, friend and active community volunteer, Kaye Hogg, passed away unexpectedly.

Kaye Hogg of Hartland, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2012.
The devoted wife, mother and friend will be missed by the community she was so actively involved in, according to close friend Liz Urquhart who described Hogg as dedicated, amazing and the ultimate optimist.
“She was truly an amazing person and I’m a better person for knowing her,” Urquhart said.

The mother of two, Hogg spent countless hours volunteering at her children’s school, the Charyl Stockwell Academy, and according to Urquhart, was instrumental in many of the programs and volunteer efforts throughout the community.
"Without her, I couldn't have done all the things that we did and we have just an outstanding girls group, we do a ton of service work," she said. "She went above and beyond every single time."

It was her natural talent for organization and detail along with her continuous spirit of always willing to help that made Hogg an invaluable asset, according to Urquhart.
“Words are not enough to describe her,” she said. “She was tremendous.”
With activities that included girl scouts, boy scouts and Lego league, Hogg was also a constant presence within the school helping with reading, spelling tests and parties. She also coordinated events such as food drives and subdivision events that included a Relay for Life team.
A funeral service was held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home in memory of Hogg on Wednesday with hundreds of people coming to pay their respects to the woman who seemed to be able to do it all.
“Someone said that we just think she had more hours in her day than most other people because she just got so much done all the time,” Urquhart said. “She will be deeply missed by a lot of people.”
Hogg is survived by her husband of 13 years, Ian, children, Sarah and James, parents, William and Janice Marsack, siblings, Kari (Dennis) Schmalzel, Karl (Andrea) Marsack, Kami (Givan) Fox, nieces and nephews, Alex and Hannah Schmalzel, Jessica and Jacob Marsack as well as extended family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Gleaners Food Bank, Charyl Stockwell Academy Book Library or the Children's Ministries at River Community Church in Howell.
