On the Agenda: Township Budget Discussion

The Hartland Township Board of Trustees will hold a work session to focus on the 2011-12 budget after its 7 p.m. regular meeting Tuesday at Township Hall, 2655 Clark Rd.

While the township is expecting a revenue increase from funding tied to population once 2010 census figures are released in its general fund, residents also face the another year of likely sewer rate increases. The township has been battling a deficit in its sewer fund, caused in part by years of non-increases.

The 2011-12 budget begins in April and would likely be approved later this month. A public hearing will be held prior to approval.

The board also will discuss delinquent tax policies.
