Patch Viewfinder: Figure Skating Team Ends Season With a Strong Showing at District Competition

The Hartland United team includes students from Hartland, Lakeland and Milford high schools.

Members of the Hartland United high school figure skating team performed at a district competition Wednesday at the , ending their season on a high note.

The team includes skaters from Hartland, Lakeland and Milford high schools and is divided into three levels  – "A," "B" and "C." The "A" team is the most advanced, the "B" team is intermediate and the "C" team is the beginning level.

The "A" team took third place out of nine teams at the District 3 competition with a total score of 19 points. The "B" team took eighth place with eight points and the "C" team took seventh place with seven points.

None of the three teams qualified for the state competition this year, which will be held March 26 and 27 at the Ice Cube Arena in Ann Arbor.

Northville's "A" team, United Farmington's "B" team and Ladywood's "C" team all took first place at the district competition.
