Police Briefs: Super Charger Worth $5,000 Stolen from Hartland Garage
Woman loses more than $4,000 in break-in while a Detroit man is arrested in bad check case.

A performance auto part worth an estimated $5,000 was reported stolen from a garage in the 2800 block of Bullard Road, according to the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.
A 65-year-old Hartland man told police on March 24 he found his garage window broken and the item — a Blower Drive Service (BDS) 671 super charger performance part — missing. Police believe the incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. March 18 and 9 a.m. March 24, according to a police report.
Home break-in reported in Tyrone Township
A computer, several guns and jewelry worth a combined $4,200 were reported stolen from a home in the 10000 block of Foley Road in Tyrone Township while the 55-year-old owner was away on a cruise, according to the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.

Among the items reported stolen: a diamond wedding ring, two shotguns and two .22 caliber rifles, including one with a scope.
The owner's 34-year-old son, who was watching the home and overseeing repair work, reported the break-in March 26, according to a police report. Police believe the break-in occurred between 7:30 p.m. March 25 and 8:30 a.m. March 26, the report said.

Charges possible in bad check case
A 21-year-old Detroit man could face forgery charges after police say he tried to cash a counterfeit check for nearly $3,000 at the in Hartland.
The man, who was arrest on March 22 at in Hartland after the bank called authorities, told police two Detroit men who he knew drove him to the bank and asked him to cash the check, according to a police report. He said after the bank refused, the men left, so he walked to the coney island to call a cab, the report said.
The case has been submitted to the Livingston County Prosecutor's Office for review.
