Police Briefs: Woman Fends Off Purse Snatcher in Meijer Parking Lot
Golf course robbed, vandalized; Stereo stolen.

A 68-year-old Howell woman told police a man tried to rob her in parking lot at the store in Hartland, but he fled after she resisted, yelling at him that he wouldn't take her purse.
The woman followed the man to a Blue Pontiac Sunfire parked nearby that was driven by another man, according to a Livingston County Sheriff's Department report. She said that she wrote down a partial license plate number, but couldn't get the whole thing because part of it was covered by black tape, the report said.
The woman said the man approached her during the April 6 incident as she was returning a cart to the parking lot corral at about 11:30 p.m., the report said. She told police initially thought he wanted the cart and tried to give it to him when he tried to take the purse.

The man was described as white, 23-25 years old, 6 foot 3 inches tall, and 130 to 140 pounds, the report said. He wore a grey hoodie and had a possible facial piercing, the report said.
Flags stolen, green defaced at Ironwood Golf Club
Four flags were stolen, an offensive phrase using a profane word was carved into the 14th green and a portable toilet was knocked over at the in Oceola Township, its owner told the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.

The owner, who spoke to police on April 9, said tracks were left in the sand trap by a hole that borders Kellogg Road, nearby where a fence was apparently scaled, according to a police report.
Police estimate the loss of the flags and the property damage at $650, the report said.
Car stereo theft occurred in driveway
A 26-year-old Hartland man reported a his car Pioneer stereo was stolen from his car in his driveway of his home in the 2900 block of Killarney Park Drive, according to the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.
Police believe the theft took place between 4 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. April 9, a police report said. The man had heard his car alarm sound at 4 a.m. but did not check on it and he later discovered the stereo missing at 2:30 p.m., the report said.
The stereo is worth $199, the report said.
