UPDATED: Police — Pedestrian Killed by Motorist in Hit-and-Run Crash in Deerfield Township
Hartland woman also injured in Sunday's collision while a Fowlerville woman, 27, has been arrested but was later released.

A Howell man was killed and a Hartland woman was injured after they were hit by a pickup truck while walking on Center Road in Deerfield Township at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities identified Jeffrey Westphal, 47, as the man who died and Lisa Vail, 33, as the woman who was injured. Vail was transported to an area hospital to be held for observation, according to the sheriff's department.
A 27-year-old Fowlerville woman was arrested later Sunday in connection with the collision on the suspicion of leaving the scene of a fatal accident, a news release said.

The woman, whose name is being withheld by police, was lodged at the Livingston County Jail but released Monday pending further investigation, according to the department.
The victims were hit while walking eastbound on Center Road near Mack Road by a Ford F-250 also traveling eastbound that left the scene following the crash, according to police.

Livingston County EMS later found the vehicle unoccupied at Argentine Road near Golf Club Road in Oceola Township and deputies then tracked down the Fowlerville woman at about noon Sunday.
Both EMS and the Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority assisted deputies at the crash scene.
