Thursday

BOYS BASKETBALL — Hartland forward Ryan Sharpe played his best game of the season, but that wasn’t enough to help lift the struggling Eagles over Waterford Mott. The Eagles fell 62-54 and are 1-4 in their last five games.

Sharpe scored 15 and grabbed nine rebounds.

“The kids have had a tough week in practice,” Hartland coach Frank Leppek said. “We couldn’t put the ball in the basket. We were down by 15 at one point.”

However, Hartland cut the lead to four in the final quarter but was never able to seal the gap.

Dylan Videto and Ian Whitehead were moved into the starting lineup.

“We start the guys who worked the hardest in practice,” Leppek added. “We showed them a little love Tonight. They earned it.”

Videto scored six points while Whitehead grabbed four steals.

Hartland, 7-10 overall, will look to regain the same confidence they had two months ago when they take on Walled Lake Western on Monday night at home in the second game of Kensington Lakes Activities Association postseason play.
