- PLAYERS TO WATCH AND WHY: Senior Hailey Pleshakov has been the team's leading scorer the last three seasons. Sophomore Michelle Rollins, through seven games is already close to scoring as many goals (10) as she did all last season. Junior Lexie Schmidt, a co-captain, plays center-mid and is a three-year starter. Junior Jessica Bentley, a midfielder, has been playing club soccer for years and is playing for the first time for the Eagles. Sophomore Rachel Washburn is extremely fast. She's matured on the field and is a leader on defense. Senior Tatum George plays center defense and has really improved. Sophomore goalie Julie DeBus is very strong and solid in net.
- RECORDS: Team is 7-1-3 overall and 3-1-2 in the KLAA West so far this season, according the latest standings on the KLAA website. Last year, squad finished 12-6-1 overall, second in KLAA West and lost to Brighton in districts.
- LAST GAME: A 4-0 win over Walled Lake Central on Saturday.
- NEXT GAME: 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pinckney.
- TEAM GOAL: To advance past districts.
- COACH: Andrew Kartsounes is in his sixth season coaching the Eagles.
- COACH QUOTE: "The last couple of years we've gotten more and more competitive," Kartsounes said. "We'd like to win some big games and see what we can do in the league and get out of districts. We haven't gotten out of districts in a decade or so."
- PLAYER QUOTE: "We are improving, which is always a good thing," Pleshakov said.
- WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT THIS TEAM: There is a good mix of youth and experience on the squad. "There are no holes on this team," Kartsounes said.
