Vote YES for Cromaine Library on May 5th!

Historic Cromaine Library, Editorial in Livingston Cty Prss April 26th and May 3rd, Vote YES on May 5th, "Priceless"

I am posting my husband's Letter to the Editor of the LCP that was not published in today's Sunday edition) "I agree with Sunday’s editorial! (Livingston County Press, April 26, 2015-"Bond would expand Library") As a person who has lived in the area for almost 40 years the Cromaine Library has been an integral part of our family’s daily life. Our 2 children have enjoyed and benefited from the great programs and resources available at the Library and now our grandchildren are benefiting when they come to visit. The programs presented have just become more diverse and expansive through the years, from the lawn music concerts in the summer to the “Big Read” program the last several years with wonderful programming (author visits, films, lectures and concerts) surrounding the books. The Director, Ceci Marlow, has done an outstanding job in providing programs for residents from the pre-school kids up to and including senior citizens. The biggest problem the library has is not enough appropriate space to provide the services required for an expanding district population and maintenance of a great older building that badly needs a new roof (35 years old), new AC, and windows that would provide efficient use of the heating (boiler replaced in 2010) and cooling systems. The bond would finally allow the library board to provide the required maintenance and to fix the problems caused when user groups, such as teens and preschoolers, have to share space and there isn’t enough space. Our wonderful community desperately needs and deserves a quality Library to adequately serve the current and future residents. Please vote YES on May 5th to secure our future. Sincerely, Chuck Hirchert"
