Watch and Vote: Does Hartland Firefighter Bring National Anthem Home (Or Go All Roseanne Barr On It)?

7 police officers, firefighters, soldiers and veterans finalists for $10,000 prize for their units, chance to sing at Detroit Tigers game.

Singing “The Star Spangled Banner” isn’t that easy. Just ask Roseanne Barr.

But the seven finalists in Comercia Bank’s “Home of the Brave National Anthem Singing Contest” hit the high notes in their renditions of Francis Scott Key’s musical poem and give it the respect the revered song deserves.

Voting is now open to determine which of the seven best brings it home. To vote for your favorite, just go to Comericia Bank’s Facebook page and click on the “Home of the Brave” tab. Voting is open through Saturday, Sept. 20, and the winner will be announced on Monday, Sept. 22.

The contest was open to police officers, firefighters, and military service men and women and veterans.The winner gets the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the Sept. 27, 2014, Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park; 35 tickets to the game; and a $10,000 grant to the their police station or fire station, military unit or one of two military nonprofit organizations, the Wounded Warrior Project or The John D. Dingell VA Medical Center.

A panel of judges from the Detroit Tigers and Comerica Bank narrowed the field of contestants down to seven finalists before opening the contest to public voting.
