• Barry County Commission on Aging opens new nearly 17,000-square-foot activity center (fox17online.com) — Older adults and caregivers in Hastings now have a much larger Barry County Commission on Aging Activity and Resource Center on M-79, offering expanded fitness space, dining, and adult day services. The new facility, next to Harvest Pointe, keeps Meals on Wheels production in Barry County, supports local jobs, and centralizes help with caregiving, Medicare, housing, and transportation.
   

• Who Were 'Prince Arky & His Michigan Playboys'? (99wfmk.com) — A little-known country musician once called Hastings home after moving from Arkansas in the 1950s, recording rare singles as Prince Arky and His Michigan Playboys. The story traces his life in Barry County, his obscure records now prized by collectors, and his burial at Barryville Cemetery near Nashville, Michigan.
