• Junior League of Kalamazoo kicks off Dreamtime Closet project (wkzo.com) — Women and children staying at YWCA Kalamazoo can now receive new bedding and pajamas through the Junior League of Kalamazoo's Dreamtime Closet, launched Thursday. Funded by the Junior League and community donors, the project aims to provide comfort and dignity as families transition to their next steps, aligning with the international Find the Good Day of service.
• Hundreds compete in 'premier' ice skating competition in Kalamazoo (wwmt.com) — A major national solo ice dance competition is underway at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, drawing more than 230 skaters and significant visitor spending into the community. Hosted by the Greater Kalamazoo Skating Association, the four-day event also highlights local efforts to secure better long-term ice facilities. The competition continues through Saturday, offering residents a chance to see elite solo ice dancers perform.
• 8 property bookings in Kalamazoo County for the week ending Sept. 13 (kalamazootimes.com) — Kalamazoo County recorded eight property-related bookings at the county jail for the week ending September 13, covering charges from burglary and trespassing to vehicle theft and embezzlement. The report lists each individual, the facility, and the alleged offenses, offering residents a snapshot of recent property-crime enforcement activity in the county.
