The report, based on current booking records, offers residents a snapshot of recent local criminal activity and the types of offenses moving through the county facility.
3. Man convicted of shooting a Kalamazoo Township policeman sentenced to at least 47 years in prison. (wkzo.com) — A man who shot and wounded a Kalamazoo Township police officer during a 2025 domestic violence call on North Kendall Avenue has been sentenced in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court to at least 47 years in prison. Judge Pamela Lightvoet imposed 45 to 70 years for assault with intent to murder plus two years for a firearms charge, with more than 20 officers attending the sentencing.

Kalamazoo Central (Mich.) offensive trio doing it all for the Maroon Giants (on3.com) — Kalamazoo Central football may be 2-2 after losing to Portage Central, but an explosive trio of Maroon Giants is turning heads. Prices here slightly outpaced the Michigan average as statewide and national fuel costs climbed amid refinery outages and global oil market tensions, so residents may want to shop around and watch for rapid price changes.
