• Western Michigan stays perfect in MAC play behind Broc Lowry's career 4-TD day (mlive.com) — Western Michigan fans in Kalamazoo saw a dominant homecoming win at Waldo Stadium, as quarterback Broc Lowry accounted for four touchdowns in a 38-7 rout of Kent State. The Broncos improved to 2-0 in MAC play, piling up 466 yards of offense and five sacks, and now turn their attention to next Saturday's rivalry trip to Central Michigan.

• New customs rules could massively increase the cost of imported prescription drugs (wwmt.com) — New federal customs rules taking effect October 22 could make it much harder and more expensive for Kalamazoo residents who import lower-cost prescription drugs from Canada, especially those with lower incomes or limited insurance. All small international shipments will now face fees and stricter requirements, and experts warn this may sharply reduce access to mailed medications even though overall trade in drugs is relatively small.
