WAVERLY TOWNSHIP, MI — An elderly woman died in a west Michigan house fire Thursday morning, according to police.

The fire happened at 5:46 a.m. at a home in the 35000 block of 36th Avenue in Waverly Township, according to police.

Firefighters arrived and found the home fully engulfed in flames, according to police.

They learned that an elderly woman lived alone at the home, according to police.

Investigators believe a tree branch fell onto an electrical line, which then caused the fire. They do not suspect any foul play.
