Lansing council member asks city to terminate Flock camera contracts (wlns.com) — Lansing's First Ward Council Member Ryan Kost is pushing to end the city's contracts with Flock license plate reader cameras, citing privacy, misuse, and cybersecurity concerns despite reported benefits for car theft reduction. He says residents' trust has eroded and wants more community-focused policing instead. The resolution will be taken up at Monday's Lansing City Council meeting.

'Volleyturf Takeover' brings outdoor volleyball to mid-Michigan (wlns.com) — Lansing Catholic's football field turned into an outdoor volleyball venue as four area high school teams launched their seasons in the first-ever "Volleyturf Takeover." Strong crowds watched Williamston beat Portland and Lansing Catholic edge DeWitt, while fans enjoyed food trucks, games, and a youth camp with MSU volleyball players.
