2. MSU record label to produce albums with three student artists through grant (statenews.com) — An MSU-born label with artists based in Lansing is launching a free incubator program to produce full albums with three student musicians during the 2026‑27 school year. Bogue Street Records is seeking Michigan‑connected artists with something meaningful to say, accepting anonymous demo submissions on its website through Sept. 25, then mentoring selected acts on recording, business skills, marketing, and performances through spring 2027.

After second death in fatal bike crash, MSP asks for help finding witness (wlns.com) — State police are asking anyone who may have seen the Sept. 5 bike crash in Leroy Township that killed siblings Calvin and Karalee Shepard to contact the MSP Lansing Post, after sharing an image of a possible witness's pickup. The children's family, part of the Lansing Michigan Stake of their church, is planning a joint service Tuesday as community fundraising support continues.

Gretchen Whitmer's approval slipping but still above 50% as her final term winds down, while major questions swirl around the state's economic development agency.
