• Lansing's 54A District Court to close clerks' office earlier starting October 1 (wilx.com) — If you need the 54A District Court in Lansing, plan to reach the clerks' office by 4:30 p.m. starting Thursday, October 1, when it begins closing a half-hour earlier. Court staff say the change will give them time to train and prepare for next year's move to the new Public Safety & District Court Complex on South Washington.
   

• MSU receives funding to research drug effectiveness in women (wlns.com) — Researchers at Michigan State University in the Lansing area have secured a $4.6 million NIH grant to study how women's hormonal changes affect the safety and effectiveness of common medications. Using AI, lab-grown tissues, and shared data, the team aims to build free tools that help doctors better tailor drug doses for women at every life stage.
