Prosecutor denies felony charges in East Lansing police arrest seen in viral video (wilx.com) β An Ingham County prosecutor has declined felony charges in a controversial East Lansing police arrest outside Harper's, sending the case back to the city attorney for possible misdemeanors. The NAACP Lansing Branch and local residents are pressing for bodycam footage and criticizing what they see as a pattern in East Lansing policing, while one officer remains on paid leave.

Five Below secures agreement with Nessel to address pricing violations (wlns.com) β If you shop at Five Below in South Lansing or Frandor, the state has forced the chain to fix repeated overcharging where $5 items rang up higher at the register. Under a new agreement, the company must beef up pricing checks, undergo independent audits, and pay $179,500, giving Lansing-area shoppers stronger protections against future pricing errors.

Weather moves Lansing Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations to Lansing Shuffle (wilx.com) β Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations in Lansing are still on, but they're moving from the Capitol lawn to the Lansing Shuffle this weekend because of weather. Expect live music, more than 70 vendors, lucha libre wrestling, and a Latin Jazz Night finale as local instructors use dance to bring Lansing's Latino and wider community together.
