Today's riddle: What do you get when you cross an angry cow with an angry sheep? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Things to do in Metro Detroit Sept. 11 and beyond (theoaklandpress.com) — Livonia's Trinity House Theatre on 6 Mile is hopping, with concerts by September Song Sisters on Sept. 11, Mark Stuart on Sept. 12, and recurring open‑mic nights twice a month. The broader Metro Detroit roundup also highlights dozens of concerts, festivals, theater shows, art exhibits, and museum programs, giving Livonia residents plenty of options for nearby entertainment in the coming weeks.
2. Trinity Health to lay off 557 workers in Livonia as it outsources IT jobs (mlive.com) — Hundreds of Trinity Health employees in Livonia will lose their jobs this fall as the health system outsources much of its IT work from its Victor Parkway corporate offices. Layoffs affecting 557 technology staffers begin October 25 and run through late November, though clinical and patient-facing roles are not included. WARN notices filed with the state confirm the cuts are permanent.
3. Golfers give their best shot at Detroit News/GAM Hole-In-One Contest (detroitnews.com) — Livonia's Whispering Willows Golf Course just hosted the Detroit News/Golf Association of Michigan Hole-In-One Contest, drawing golfers from across metro Detroit and several Livonia residents to the seventh tee. Photos capture local players like Jordan McArleton, Phil Skender, Scott Jones, and Chris Dimitriou taking their best shots during Tuesday's competition.
4. Defense seeks to remove investigators in Danielle Stislicki murder case (bnd.com) — A man already imprisoned for a 2016 Livonia kidnapping is now seeking to remove Farmington Hills investigators from his separate Danielle Stislicki murder case, arguing they were exposed to privileged defense information. His attorney says only a completely "untainted" investigative team and prosecutor can fairly move the long‑running Oakland County case forward after earlier rulings suppressing evidence tied to a polygraph tip.
