Women over 40, regardless of insurance, can receive mammograms, plus flu shots, blood pressure checks, and other wellness resources, but advance registration by phone is required.
3. Unknown man arrested after approaching students at Crescentwood Elementary during recess (wxyz.com) — An unknown man approached children during recess at Crescentwood Elementary in Macomb County, prompting staff to rush students indoors and police to arrest the individual shortly afterward. Parents from the school community are now pressing for more information and stronger security, while the district emphasizes student safety and praises staff and students for following protocols.
4. St. Clair Shores woman sentenced to 100 weekends in jail for fatal driveway crash (cbsnews.com) — A St. Clair Shores woman has been sentenced in Macomb County Circuit Court to two years of probation and 100 weekends in the Macomb County Jail for leaving the scene of a driveway crash that killed a 76-year-old resident. Along with weekend incarceration, she must complete community service, counseling, and avoid contact with the victim's family.
5. 7 Brew raises traffic concerns along Gratiot in Roseville (macombdaily.com) — A new 7 Brew drive-thru on Gratiot in Roseville is causing long traffic backups that nearby businesses say are scaring off customers and vendors. City officials plan to meet with owners and hope upcoming locations, including one at Macomb Mall, will ease congestion while they work toward a longer-term fix.
