DSO to Perform Free Classical Concert at Macomb Center
DSO music director Leonard Slatkin will conduct the DSO in a free concert on June 8 at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts.

Music fans can hear the Detroit Symphony Orchestra perform the classics June 8 in a free concert at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts.
The DSO will perform a special program designed to appeal to classical enthusiasts as well as first-time symphony goers at 7:30 p.m. on June 8.
DSO Music Director Leonard Slatkin will conduct the orchestra in the works of Bach, Beethoven, Schubert and Tchaikovsky. In addition, the DSO will present Benjamin Brittenβs The Young Personβs Guide to the Orchestra, a composition that showcases the tone colors and capacities of the various sections of the orchestra.Β

Macomb Community College professor Philip Barrons will join the orchestra on stage to narrate.Β

Tickets to the concert are free, but seating is reserved, and each order is limited to four tickets.Β
Tickets may be picked up at the Macomb Center box office Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and Friday, noon-6 p.m. Tickets may also be ordered by phone at 586-286-2222.Β
