Local Artists Showcase Works 'On The Wall' at Mount Clemens Gallery
The works of dozens of local artists will be on display at the Anton Art Center in Mount Clemens through Sept. 24.

Through Sept. 24, the works of artists from local cities such as Macomb Township, Chesterfield Township and Shelby Township will cover the walls of the Anton Art Centerβs Petitpren Community Gallery for the exhibit, On the Wall.Β
Designed to give participants the optimum level of artistic freedom, On the Wall allows any artist age 18 and older to choose what to display and how to display it. The artists install their own work and are given no restrictions on media, theme or size.
More than a dozen artists have already installed their works and more are expected to participate.

βSo far, there are over 100 pieces,β said the centerβs executive director Jennifer Callans, in a release. βSome artists chose to show a body of work, others just a well-selected piece or two.βΒ
Most of the pieces are priced for sale.

The works currently on display include clay, photography, painting and assemblage.Β
The artists include: BluRaven C. Houvener (Macomb Township), Jane Barden (St. Clair), Richie Campbell (Detroit), Chris Charron (Eastpointe), Daren Dundee (Clinton Township), Patricia Ann Everett (Chesterfield Township), Rupert Keais (Clinton Township), Tony Lafferty (Clinton Township), Gail Lambka (Shelby Township), Mary Marinelli (Clinton Township), Diane OβNeil (Shelby Township), Kela Robinson (Sterling Heights), Barbara Schroeder (Harrison Township), Marilyn Sterling (Clinton Township) and C. Bedard Walters (Clinton Township).Β
Admission to the Anton Art Center is free and the public is welcome to come and view On The Wall.
The Anton Art Center is open Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-4 p.m.Β
The center is closed on Mondays.
