Sport a 'Stache,' Earn Free Entry to the DIA This Weekend
Visitors with mustaches receive free general admission to the Detroit Institute of Arts Aug. 3-5.

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is offering free museum admission to any visitor who wears a mustacheβreal or fakeβfrom Friday, Aug. 3 to Sunday, Aug. 5 during regular museum hours.
The promotion celebrates the eccentric appearance of Salvador DalΓ, whose painting Soft Construction with Boiled Beans is currently on view in the DIAβs exhibition Five Spanish Masterpieces.
This weekend, visitors can enjoy a variety of museum programs, including The DalΓ Projectβa puppet performance that explores DalΓβs embrace of the subconscious through various forms of puppetryβpresented by Puppet Junction.

Schedule of performances:
- Friday, Aug. 3, 8 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 4, 2 p.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 5, 2 p.m.
Performances on Friday and Saturday are appropriate for adults only; Sundayβs performance is appropriate for ages 8 and up.

The DIA is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
