Bibee's Sights Set on College Bowling
The Anchor Bay junior turned heads early on and has remained strong through the years.

junior Shawn Bibee turned heads early in his high school bowling career, throwing a 298 game as a freshman. He had the first 10 strikes at the MJMA Bridgeport Tournament at Harbor Lanes and, since then, his name has surfaced as a possible college prospect.
“Shawn has made it a personal goal to bowl at the collegiate level,” Anchor Bay bowling coach Kevin Hibbs said. “With the performance he has had, it seems he may have that chance.”
“The line Bibee used to summarize his own emotions to coach Jim Spratke after that ninth frame was, ‘I hope there is a hospital nearby because my heart’s racing so much,’” Hibbs said.

This year, Bibee is a captain of the Anchor Bay team and ended the season with a combined average of 204 and an individual school match win rate of 58 percent. He made stepladders at the Teen Masters at Royal Lanes.
“Shawn is a good leader and knows the game of bowling well,” said Hibbs. “We have watched him and his talents grow since he started with the team three years ago. We see no problems for him to meet his goal to bowl at the college level and possibly at the professional level. We are ecstatic, however, to be able to have him with us at Anchor Bay for another year.”
