Coffee Like Children?

This morning I made my morning coffee with one of those stove top espresso makers and I was considering the experience...

First, the manufacturer states that it makes 3-cups of espresso but I call it 1-cup of strong coffee.

Second, it takes me 2 terrible sips of the brew to get to the heavenly bliss of enjoyment.  I know this sounds weird but when I take the first sip of an espresso the flavor is like a punch in the face, when I take the second sip it is more like a slap, but when I get to the third I find that it is like the caress of a lover's touch.  

And "why" you might ask do I drink the stuff if I have to go through the initial pain?  From what my wife has told me the pain of child birth is quickly forgotten when she holds the child that she just birthed.  I guess in a way it is like that - By time I get to the third sip of espresso the very first sip has been forgotten.  Then strangely enough, I spend the rest of the day looking forward to that next first sip.

Boy I love coffee...
