L’Anse Creuse High School – North newspaper received 12 awards from MIPA

Members of the L'Anse Creuse High School – North newspaper, the North Star, recently received 12 awards from the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA).

MACOMB, Mich. – Members of the L’Anse Creuse High School – North newspaper, the North Star, recently received 12 awards from the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA). The MIPA is an organization that offers workshops and services to support Michigan high school, middle school and junior high journalism programs. Annually, MIPA recognizes top students for their achievements in yearbook, newspaper, photography, video and new media.

The North Star received an overall newspaper Gold Award and six students received individual awards. "Over 3,000 entries were submitted and the competition is tough," said journalism teacher Kim Kozian. "I’m very proud of the North Star staff and all their achievements."
