Thank You, World!

Getting what you want out of life is simple. All you need to do is make sure everyone around you gets what they want first! What!?!?

Well, this is my first post—normally you will see things relating to community develpment, local food systems, and agriculture, as these are my passions. But today, I am going to start by sharing a concept that has created the place for me to live and breathe, ultimately allowing me to share my passions with you in the future!

Pay it Forward. Karma. Do Unto Others. However you say it, it means we are all connected. I am the world, and the world is me. The past 3 years have created an existence for me that I would have never expected, never planned for, and never outright chosen. But the existence found me, and has changed the way I view the world, the way I participate in the world, and my expectations of the world.

If you believe in the concept, it is not hard to see how it truly can change your life. If you adhere to the concept, you live lighter, fuller, and less complicated. Of course, this sounds easier than it is, right? How do you do for others when your own needs or the needs of those you love are overwhelming – when your own life seems so complicated and convoluted? How? Again, sorry to use cliché phrases (and this one I believe is even copyrighted) JUST DO IT. Wake up in the morning and be grateful for the things that you have in your life: your health, your family, your home, enough food and clean water, peace, and friends. Wake up in the morning and be grateful for the things you do NOT have in your life: sickness, addiction, cancer, a friend or loved one with cancer, depression, homelessness, hunger, violence, war. Then, take the next step and make sure the world around you has the things it needs: peace, no hunger, clean water, shelter, love, community, and a friend.

The concept of karmic management works. It worked for my family and many, many other successful people. Define success for you: Money? Big house? Nice car? Fame? If that defines success for you, karmic management will get you want you want. Truly, it will. You do not have to give up your wants, you just need to make sure those around you are getting what they want alongside of you. Or even better yet, Before you get what you want.

Contentment? Comfort? Peace? These successes are the gifts that you receive without expecting them. They are the byproduct of living and giving for the benefit of others. For the benefit of the world. For the benefit of me. You are the world, and the world is you. Thank you, world.
