Chesterfield Township Families Salute Summer
The annual Summer Salute event was held Saturday on municipal grounds.
Families flocked to the annual Salute to Summer Saturday in Chesterfield Township.
The event, hosted by the township on , was free and open to the public.
Township Supervisor Michael Lovelock said he was glad to see so many smiling children enjoying a perfect summer day.

"This is why I do this every year for the last three years," Lovelock said. "It gets bigger and better every year and we do it for the families."
The event featured a petting farm and educational animal show presented by Barnyard Express, moonwalks, temporary tattoos, crafts and Tiny the Clown. Meanwhile, K-9 Unit and held demonstrations as the actors were in full swing at the .

"The board really wanted to do something fun for the families," said township Treasurer Linda Hartman.
Sandy Gendreau, 45, of Chesterfield Township, took her daughters Gianna, 7, and Sarina, 4, to the festivities.
"I wish there were more events like this," said Gendreau. "I think it helps bring families together."
Lisa Mountford, 45, also of the township, brought her 11-year-old daughter RachelΒ and Rachel's friends, Jenna Myers, 7, and Mia Zarka, 10, both of Chesterfield Township, to the Historical Village. The trip provided the kids with an educational look into how people lived long ago, she said.
