Chesterfield Township Man Stopped With AK-47, Gas Station Assault and Chainsaw Thefts

AK-47 Transport 

Chesterfield Township police stopped a 46-year-old township man on 23 Mile Road around 8 a.m. Sept. 18 after someone called 911 to report seeing the man place an AK-47 in the back of his SUV, according to police. 

The man claimed he was planning to shoot the gun at a range in "the next couple days." The weapon was confiscated and he faces charges for the illegal transport method of the firearm, police stated. 

Customer Lashes Out at Clerk 

A woman, believed to be 18-22 years old, assaulted a BP Gas station employee around 11 p.m. Sept. 18 on 23 Mile in Chesterfield Township, police said. 

The employee told police that he was assaulted by the woman. He said she was upset because he refused to sell her gasoline for making derogatory comments to him, police said. 

The woman left in a white Saturn. The case remains under investigation. 

Chainsaws Snatched 

The owner of J & W Tree Service reported to police that someone stole eight chainsaws, valued at $4,100, from his barn at the 54000 block of Bates Road between 6 p.m. Sept. 21 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22, according to police.
