The Chesterfield Township Library will host New Baltimore author Tom Stanton, who will present "A Journey through Detroit Tigers History". Stanton, a noted baseball historian and author, will take fans on a personal journey through more than a century of Detroit Tigers history. He'll share insights on the players, managers, owners, and special moments in Detroit Tigers history. Stanton is the author of several baseball books, including "Ty and The Babe", "Hank Aaron and the Home Run that Changed America", "The Road to Cooperstown", and "The Final Season", a memoir of the last year at Tiger Stadium. He also edited "The Detroit Tiger Reader". Stanton has appeared on CNN, FOX, and ESPN, and was honored in 2008 as Michigan Author of the Year. A book signing will follow the presentation. This program is part of the 2012 Adult Summer Reading Program at the Chesterfield Township Library. The theme of the summer reading program is "Dream Big...Read!" Registration is requested, and drop-ins are welcome.
