Algonac Pickerel Tournament

It's time for the Algonac Lions Club 2011 Pickerel Tournament in downtown Algonac, running through July 4. But it's much more than a fishing contest.

Today's lineup includes:

  • Noon: Midway opens
  • Noon-dusk: Arts and crafts show, Riverfront Park
  • 3-10 p.m.: Bingo at Riverfront Park
  • 4-8 p.m.: Bike show on the Riverfront
  • 5-10 p.m.: Vegas Room open at St. Catherine's.
  • 5 p.m.-midnight: Beer tent at St. Catherine's.
  • 6-7 p.m.: Kids Karaoke Contest, Main Stage.
  • 7-9 p.m.: Adult Karaoke Contest, Round 1, Main Stage.
  • 7 p.m.: Poker tournament begins in Vegas Room at St. Catherine's.
  • 8 p.m.: Bike night at beer tent, St. Catherine's.
  • 8 p.m.-midnight: Live entertainment at the beer tent.
  • 10:30 p.m.: Daily fishing prizes announced, Main Stage.
  • Midnight: Midway closes.

Of course, no Fourth of July weekend is complete without fireworks, and those will be fired off at dusk on July 2 along the riverfront. And you can't celebrate without a parade either. That kicks off at 2 p.m. July 3.
