Hite's Leadership Will Be His Legacy at Anchor Bay
While racking up points on the track and on the field, Anchor Bay senior captain remains a focused leader and mentor to teammates.

Senior track star Zack Hite has been racking up the points this season for the Tars in a multitude of track and field events. Currently, he high jumps, pole vaults and runs the 800 meters (2:01.9) and 4x400m relay (3:35.6). On occasion he will also compete in the mile, the 400m, the 4x800m relay and long jump.

"Zack is an incredibly gifted athlete and a great person," Anchor Bay track coach Rich Dodt said. "He was a member of our state qualifying 4x400m relay team last year and is a possible contender for high jump and pole vault this year."
The 6-foot-4 captain has been a member of the varsity track team for four years and also plays Tars basketball and quarterbacks the school's football team.

On Tuesday in a meet against Warren-Mott, Hite placed first in the pole vault event with a jump of 12 feet and was a member of the winning 4x400m relay team with a time of 3:35.43.
Hite will graduate in a few short weeks, but his legacy has already been acknowledged by Dodt.
"Zack is very focused on bettering himself and his team and he is a mentor to several of our underclassmen," said Dodt. "His leadership has helped to ensure that our team will maintain its strength in the years to come."
