Well sports fans, the weather promises to be a touch better this week.

So, working under that assumption, we here in the Pick of the Week are going to highlight upcoming games with hopes you actually might be able to see them.

The rain-outs, delays and postponements have been nothing short of unprecedented--making it hard for fans to get fired up.

But, before we look ahead, let's take a acknowledge happenings last week.

Kudos to the girls soccer team who ousted Utica High, 3-0, last week. The win helped the Lady Tars keep pace in the ultra-competitive Macomb Area Conference White, and currently trail division-leading Lamphere by a pair of games

Now, with our fingers crossed for good weather, lets take a look at some important match-ups this week.

  • The Lady Tars softball team have a big game Wednesday afternoon against division rival, St. Clair High. The first pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
  • The varsity baseball team travels to L’Anse Creuse North Thursday to square off at 4 p.m. against the Crusaders.
  • Both the boys and girls track teams are set to battle some of the area’s best squads at 3 p.m. Friday at the Sterling Heights Invitational.
