CARE of Southeast Michigan is offering an eight-week program to help Macomb County women struggling with problem use of alcohol or other drugs

β€œBeyond Trauma: A Healing Journey for Women” by Stephanie Covington, is a proven, researched-based program addressing the particular needs of women, according to a news release.

This program provides hope and direction for women who are moving forward from substance use and trauma. This class explores:

  • Managing stress
  • Self care
  • Positive relationships

The Beyond Trauma class meets for eight weeks; every Monday evening from 6-8pm; starting on Oct. 13. Classes will be held at CARE of Southeastern Michigan’s Fraser Office: 31900 Utica Road, Fraser.

There are several ways to register: online @ www.careofsem.com, over the phone (586) 541-CARE or in person. There is a one-time fee of $30 for the entire eight-week class. Scholarships and sliding fee scales are available to make it affordable to all who need it.

Federal, state and local funding has been provided through Macomb County Community Mental Health/Office of Substance Abuse to support project costs and other funding sources.
