A man, who police said fired shots at officers was arrested Thursday morning after a standoff at a Macomb County trailer park.
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A man, who police said fired shots at officers was arrested Thursday morning after a standoff at a Macomb County trailer park.
The 47-year-old man was charged with felony assault and malicious destruction of property charges. He was placed in the Macomb County Jail.
The 47-year-old man locked himself inside the mobile home at the Carriageway Mobile Home Park near Gratiot Avenue and 24 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township just pass midnight after firing a shot at officers, who were talking to his neighbor, police said.

The neighbor told police the 47-year-old man destroyed his property, police said.
While officers were investigating the claim, the 47-year-old man stepped outside his mobile home after fired a shot from an AR-15 assault rifle at officers, police said.

Officers then took cover while the man locked himself inside the mobile home, police said.
The man refused to surrender and disobeyed officers' orders, occasionally stepping out of the mobile home at yelling insults at officers, police said.
Officers eventually approached the man and arrested him without further incident, police said.
Officials searched the trailer and found the AR-15 rifle, a spent shell casing and other weapons, police said.
