Tars Softball Player is Standout At the Plate
Junior Kasey McKay's hot bat picks up where it left off last year for the Anchor Bay softball team.

Kasey McKay is wasting no time getting back into hitting form for the y Tars this season.
As a sophomore last year, McKay ended her season with a .480 batting average and a .700 on-base percentage. She was named to the first team all-regional, first team Macomb County, first team all-district and first team Macomb Area County Red Division.
The three-year starter and standout went 2-for-4 in the Tars' first and only game this season and had two RBIs with a double and a two-run homer. Her play helped Anchor Bay defeat L'Anse Creuse North 7-0.

"Kasey is an excellent all-around ballplayer," Anchor Bay softball coach Len Perkins said. "She has good speed and a strong throwing arm."
McKay bats third in the lineup, plays a mean shortstop and has been turning heads at several colleges for years. As a freshman, McKay started at third for the Anchor Bay team that went to the state finals.

In addition to her playing abilities, McKay is also an outstanding team leader.
"Kasey has a great personality and is well liked by her teammates," said Perkins. "She is also very coachable."
