Video: Anchor Bay Baseball Trumped by Stevenson

Ryan Lavoie outduels Anthony Misiewicz as Tars' defense falters in 4-0 loss to Titans.

Stevenson pitcher Ryan Lavoie threw a two-hit shutout and outpitched Anthony Misiewicz on Thursday afternoon as the Titans blanked the Tars 4-0.  

Lavoie, who is committed to play baseball for Eastern Michigan University next season, struck out 11 and allowed only a pair of singles.

Misiewicz, (6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 K) pitched well, but the Titans scratched out two unearned runs in the second inning and two more in the fifth inning after the Tars misplayed a bunt.

Nicholas Black and Ethan Gotz finished with Anchor Bay's only two hits. Kevin Marnon (2-2, run, RBI) and Dylan Cooper (2-2, double, RBI) led the Titans offensively, who won improved to 9-1 with the win. The loss dropped the Tars to 5-2 overall.
