2 Unconscious in Ravine for 8 Hours After Crash
Northville Township police think alcohol was a factor late Tuesday night crash, reported to police Wednesday morning.

Two people lay in a ravine for eight hours after they were knocked unconscious in a vehicle crash late Tuesday night, Northville Township police said.
Hometownlife.com reports that police received a 911 call about 6:35 a.m. Wednesday from a female who said she had been involved in an accident during the night. Police tracked the location of the call and found the woman and a male passenger, both 40, in the area of Eight Mile and Griswold roads.

Their vehicle left the road in a heavily wooded area and struck a tree, Northville Township Public Safety Director John Werth said.
The male passenger, of Ferndale, was unresponsive at the scene and was airlifted to St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was in serious condition Thursday, but is expected to survive.

The driver, a Northville resident, was taken to Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills by the Northville Township Fire Department. Her release was imminent Thursday.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of Michigan State Police. Werth said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
